The Production of Butter was commissioned by the Friesche Coöperatieve Zuivel-Export Vereeniging. The film was likely made for potential consumers of their dairy products, as well as for farms in the region that might want to join the cooperative. The Production of Butter shows how efficient, hygienic, and modern the production process is, and how the quality of the products is guaranteed. As usual in this type of film, the entire production process is shown, in this case from the milking of the cow to the packaging of the butter and its transport to the customers.
