Focus on the production of candy. With mechanically produced mints and the production of cinnamon sticks by the sugar baker Jaap van Leverink from Amsterdam. REACTION of the sugar baker Van Leverink. SHOTS: candy department Vroom en Dreesman (V&D); production of mint by mechanically beating the dough, men putting coloured strips on the dough, machine pulling the dough in a roll which is then punched into mints; candy jar with mints and one with cinnamon sticks; cinnamon oil is added to a pan of brown sugar, syrup and white sugar pulp; pouring out the pulp on a steel plate, beating the dough on a hook on the wall; man and woman make long rolls of cinnamon that are then cut into small sticks; ext. seventeenth century warehouse in the Kromboomsloot in Amsterdam.
