The Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch Railways, NS) have constructed special parking lots near stations and put new trains into service for the commuters on the line Maastricht - Amsterdam and Heerlen - Den Haag. On the lines passengers can a.o. get a cup of coffee and there is a radiotelephone aboard to call a taxi. SHOTS: traffic jamon the highway; train rides on a bridge across a highway; int. train; large parking lot near station Bussum-Zuid; train departs from station Zoetermeer and arrives at a covered platform of The Hague Central Station with a.o. a board with departure times, escalators and the arrival of teh metro; int. Intercity Plus where a woman hands out coffee to the passengers; dining carriage; men uses the radiotelephone to order a cab; train passes an almost empty highway.
