Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.
Ice skaters Joop Bosman and Klaas Schippers are the first and second to finish in Leeuwarden during the Elfstedentocht (Schippers with white trousers, black sweater, white armband on left arm; in the final shots also with a bandage around his head). They skated on ditches, canals etc. in the wintery Friesian landscape, through Friesian cities (a.o. Staveren, Hindeloopen, Gorkum, Bolsward, Franeker, Dokkum, Leeuwarden) and across the IJsselmeer. Note: Bosman and Schippers were later disqualified.
