On the occasion of the postwar reconstruction, a group of journalists visits the Jozo salt factories in Boekelo; looks at a derrick and a pumping installation ("pumpjack") for the extraction of oil in Schoonebeek and tours the site with a.o. technical installations of an oil refinery (owned by Esso?) in Pernis near Rotterdam.
