Large rescue demonstration on the coast near Katwijk. Hundreds of people are rescued at the Dutch coasts annually, a.o.  thanks to the efforts of the Koninklijke Noord- en Zuid-Hollandse Reddings Maatschappij (KNZHRM, Royal Netherlands North and South Holland Sea Rescue Institution) and volunteers of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Bond tot het Redden van Drenkelingen (KNBRD, Royal Netherlands Association for the Rescue of Drowing Persons). SHOTS: several of the demonstration, with a.o. the building of the Rescue-team with lifeguard looking out over the sea with binoculars; a speedboot of the rescue-team saves a drowning person; boat of the KNZHRM in action near a burning raft; 'victim' is taken ashore on a stretcher with a helicopter and lowered onto the beach; the onlookers protect themselves from the blown up sand.
