Prime Minister V.G.M. Marijnen has formed a new government nine weeks after the elections. The new government poses in the Trèveszaal (Trève hall), with the ministers dr. G.M.J. Veldkamp of Social Affairs, E. Toxopeus of Internal Affairs, J. van Aartsen of Transport Public Works and Water Management, P.J.S. de Jong of Defence, Ynso Scholten of Justice, T.H. Bot of Education, Arts and Science, J.F. Schouwenaar-Franssen of Social Work, Barend Biesheuvel of Agriculture and Fishery, J.E. Andriessen of Economic Affairs, H.J. Witteveen of Finance and P.C.W.M. Bogaers of Housing. Minister Joseph Luns of Foreign Affairs is absent.
