Solemn unveiling of a monument in Medemblik in remembrance of the garrison - and of the fallen members - that was stationed in Medemblik during the mobilization of 1939. The chairman of the Development and Recreation Commission at the time, J. Geusenbroek, and the mayor of Medemblik, P.C. Peters, deliver a speech and lay a wreath. 00:12 and 00:29 and 00:45 and 01:11 Peters; 00:23 Geusenbroek.
During World War II the newsreels by film producers Polygoon and Profilti were controlled by the German occupiers. Polygoon and Profilti had to work together with the German film rental office Tobis. From January 1, 1941 the newsreels were therefore called Tobis News. Until the fall of 1944 newsreels under this name were produced alternately by Polygoon and Profilti.
