Prime Minister Drees leaves for Indonesia to hold a meeting with the high representative of the Crown in Batavia, L.J.M. Beel, about the situation surrounding the second politionele actie (police action) over there. Travelling with him is the State Secretary of Foreign Affairs, mr. N.S. Blom. Before he leaves Drees talks to the press in the waiting room of Schiphol Airport. The entire cabinet comes to send him off; the ambassadors of Belgium, France and Canada are also present.
