The potato crops in the Netherlands are threatened by the Colorado potato beetle. This insect multiplies itself quickly and eats the potato leafs, which causes the potatoes under the ground to die off. SHOTS: - a jute bag with patotoes is emptied in the storage crate at a greengrocer; - plate with steaming mealy potatoes is on the tble; - close ups of Colorado potato beetles, eating of the potato plant leaves; - potato crops are sprayed; on large farmlands by groups of sprayers with a communal motor sprayer; in an allotment garden on a smaller scale bij an allotment gardener and a hand sprayer; bare potato plants; - the masses of beetles that are washed ashore are cleared out by pupils or burned with flamethrowers by the army.
