Unveiling of the monument "Navy and Science" (by W.J. van Dijck ?) on behalf of the Algemeen Nederlandsch Comité "Onze Marine" (General Dutch Committee"Our Navy") on the grounds of the Onderzeedienst (Submarine Service) in Den Helder. Present are a.o. prof.dr.ir. F.A. Vening Meinesz and a large number of officers. The monument pays tribute to Vening Meinesz for his successful scientific research aboard Dutch submarines. The monument contains a bronze plaque with a.o. a picture of F.A. Vening Meinesz.
